Field Representatives charged with scholarship students participating in the YES, FLEX and/or ASMYLE programs must receive training annually.
This training provides the methods and tools necessary for placing, monitoring and counseling these specific groups of students, as well as their host families and school personnel, with sensitivity to cross-cultural issues unique to this exchange population. Cultural Crossways training ensures understanding of the goals, expectations and requirements of the FLEX, YES and A-SMYLE programs.
Our programs provide focused, cost effective regional trainings for ECA funded program representatives. Because this is a yearly requirement for the grant, Cultural Crossways regularly monitors and adapts our curriculum to keep current with changes in grant requirements as well as current events on the international stage.
Host family recruiting; screening and selecting host families; securing enrollments in accredited secondary schools; clustering component; language programming needs and assessment; host family pre-arrival orientation; post arrival, mid-year and re-entry orientations for students; participant monitoring; enhancement and leadership skill building; community service activities.
